Corbitt Diary Transcript

Deep within the records archives of the Portsmouth Athenaeum was a file folder containing a collection what seemingly little was publicly known of Walter Corbitt, esquire. Included was some legal documentation regarding property and lawsuits, and also a peculiar memorandum from the Historical Society, requesting the transcribing of Corbitt’s diary while it was on loan from Michael Thomas, minister of the Chapel of Contemplation. There was no trace of the actual diary, and with just a few brief passages typed out, what followed felt like a very incomplete yet fantastical glimpse into Corbitt’s dealings.
